چکیده

We construct generalized grand-canonicaland canonical Gibbs measures for a Hamiltonian system described in terms of a complex scalar field that is defined on a circle and satisfies a nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a focusing nonlinearity of order p < 6. Key properties of these Gibbs measures, in particular absence of “phase transitions” and regularity properties of field samples, are established. We then study a time evolution of this system given by the Hamiltonian evolution perturbed by a stochastic noise term that mimics effects of coupling the system to a heat bath at some fixed temperature. The noise is of Ornstein–Uhlenbeck type for the Fourier modes of the field, with the strength of the noise decaying to zero, as the frequency of the mode tends to ∞. We prove exponential approach of the state of the system to a grand-canonical Gibbs measure at a temperature and “chemical potential” determined by the stochastic noise term.

Ergodicity for the Weakly Damped Stochastic Non-linear Schrödinger Equations

We study a damped stochastic non-linear Schrödinger (NLS) equation driven by an additive noise. It is white in time and smooth in space. Using a coupling method, we establish convergence of the Markovian transition semi-group toward a unique invariant probability measure. This kind of method was originally developped to prove exponential mixing for strongly dissipative equations such as the Nav...

Quantitative Bounds on the Rate of Approach to Equilibrium for some One-Dimensional Stochastic Non-Linear Schrödinger Equations

We establish quantitative bounds on the rate of approach to equilibrium for a system with infinitely many degrees of freedom evolving according to a one-dimensional focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation with diffusive forcing. Equilibrium is described by a generalized grand canonical ensemble. Our analysis also applies to the easier case of defocusing nonlinearities. .

Recently the Jarzynski equation have been under many investigations. In this equation a relation between the average exponential of the work done on a system under non-equilibrium condition and equilibrium free energy differences is established. In different papers the equation has already been extended to different conditions. In this paper we will extend it to a situation that a system is dri...

Numerical solution of the one dimensional non-linear Burgers equation using the Adomian decomposition method and the comparison between the modified Local Crank-Nicolson method and the VIM exact ‎solution

The Burgers’ equation is a simplified form of the Navier-Stokes equations that very well represents their non-linear features. In this paper, numerical methods of the Adomian decomposition and the Modified Crank – Nicholson, used for solving the one-dimensional Burgers’ equation, have been compared. These numerical methods have also been compared with the analytical method. In contrast to...

Introduction of a Novel Two-Dimensional Equation of State to Predict Gas Equilibrium Adsorption in Highly-Nonideal Systems

Abstract The accurate calculations of adsorption equilibrium for multicomponent gas systems are of great importance in many applications. In this paper, five two-dimensional equations of state 2D-EOS, i.e. Van der Waals, Eyring, Zhou-Ghasem-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong and Peng-Robinson, were examined to find out their abilities to predict adsorption equilibrium for pure and multi-component ga...
